market report for the week ending October 9, 2026

At Friday’s Cattle sale, butcher cows and bulls sold steady to 5¢ per pound higher. Calves and yearlings traded steady with last week’s market. We expect Cattle numbers to increase next week as harvest wraps up.

At Tuesday’s sheep, lamb and goat sale, good ewes, rams and nannies sold in a steady market. Kids, ewe lambs and ram lambs also sold in a steady market. Lambs are kept under cover and provided water from the time they are unloaded at Stettler Auction Market Limited. Weekly sheep, lamb and goat pick-up is available throughout Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Call 1-403-742-2368 anytime.
